Hockey Director Employment Opportunity

By Admin, 04/23/19, 1:45PM CDT

Our club has and is continuing to grow at a rate that is higher than average (~+8%).  This rapid increase in membership is fantastic for the club and the area, but has presented challenges to the BoD and other volunteers.  The biggest challenge is the ability to handle all of the responsibilities effectively and in a timely fashion.  We've relied on volunteers to run all aspects of the club in the past because with lower numbers it was a task we felt could be managed by volunteering our family and free time.

We are closing in on 400 members next season and that club size is too much for volunteers to handle on their own.  Thus, the BoD has been researching other methods to ensure proper growth and development of it's players and coaching staff but also continuity as players get older and coaches move on to the next age division.  The BoD has agreed and approved a motion to search for a full time Hockey Director to handle a large portion of the tasks required to continue growing, developing, and providing the proper environment for the kids in our club.  We will post the opening for a FT Hockey Director tomorrow, April 19th, and are hopeful that we can begin interviewing candidates as early as the week of April 29th.

Details about the Hockey Director position include but are not limited to:

  • Certified USAH Level 4 Coach
  • Certified or enrolled in USA Hockey Director Training
  • Minimum Bachelors, Masters preferred
  • Specific certification for physical activity / nutrition desired
  • Coordinate Coaches meetings, training (USAH and on-ice), and reviews
  • Assist in areas of focus in practice for all age divisions, can include practice planning
  • Assist in areas of focus of age-specific off-ice training / dryland training
  • Coordinate and administer Evaluations and Team Placements
  • Base salary not to exceed $50k

We are confident that by selecting the correct full time Hockey Director candidate we can continue to grow and develop while also providing fun, competitive, and age-appropriate environment for kids of all skills and abilities in our club.

If you have a desire to be a Full Time Hockey Director for TBL and possess some or all of the desired qualifications outlined above, please use the following link to submit your resume for this Full Time position.  I would also encourage anyone that may feel they have other desirable qualifications that are not listed above to submit your resume as well.  The BoD is hopeful to have a list of quality resumes submitted by midnight of next Monday (April 29th) so that we can begin interviewing candidates in a timely manner as the season will be here before we know it.
